Girls on the Run 5k Spring 2018 – Arlington
GBE's very own Girls on the Run
girls hit the streets of Arlington on Sunday, May 20th in Welburn
Square to complete their spring 5k. Over the course of the 10 weeks leading up
to the 5k, the girls worked on developing and improving competence, feeling
confident in who they are, developing strength of character, responding to
others and oneself with care and compassion, creating positive connections with
peers and adults, and making meaningful contributions to their community.
Congratulations to all the girls and their buddy runners for finishing strong!
2018-19 Placement Feedback Form
As we rapidly approach the end of the school year, placement of
students for the 2018-2019 school year in grades K-6 will undoubtedly be the
foremost on every parent’s mind. Please know at Greenbriar East Elementary
School, we feel that parents are an integral part of our team; therefore, we
welcome parent input into the placement of students in their respective
classes.
Please complete the placement
feedback form by June 15, 2018.
SOL TESTING
INFORMATION
Expedited
retakes will be held on June 5-7 for eligible students. Students eligible for retakes will be contacted by their teacher or
School Test Coordinator.
IT'S NOT TOO LATE!
Order
Your Yearbook Today!
The yearbook is always a fun item for the students to receive at the end of the school year.
Yearbooks can be purchased online through My School Bucks or send your payment in with your student via cash or check. Yearbook forms are also available in the front office.
Student Laptops-Summer Maintenance

Beginning June 7 we will
collect 3rd-6th grade student laptops, chargers and sleeves. Homeroom teachers
will let students and parents know the exact collection date and time.
Now is a good time to check with your child to make sure they can locate their
charger and their laptop sleeve. All three parts (laptop, charger,
sleeve) will need to be turned in on their designated turn-in day and any
missing or unusable item will incur a replacement charge. If your child
is unable to locate a charger or sleeve you still have a couple weeks to
search. If diligently searching doesn't turn up the missing
items, you can report the loss here.

Launching
Mental Health Google Site
.
Mental health has been a “hot button” topic in our country over
the past few months. School counselors are excited to share a new mental
health resource site for our Chantilly community!
As elementary, middle, and high school counselors continue to work
with families in each school, we felt it necessary to share similar information
and resources with everyone in grades K through 12. The Chantilly
Pyramid’s comprehensive Google site link can be found here https://sites.google.com/view/chantillycounselorsresources/home or
on our GBE Website.
Feel free to access the sites on your own. If you have specific questions
or needs, contact your child’s school counselor
directly.
