 Volunteers Needed
Field Day is our way of celebrating the end of a great year. In order to have this celebration on June 11, we need volunteers to run the upper grade level (4th-6th) stations. Field Day cannot happen without our wonderful volunteers and we greatly appreciate your help. If you can, we would like to have you volunteer from 9:00 am to 1:00pm.
We are using an online form to generate our volunteer list.
Please visit (https://goo.gl/forms/QbjboJ5Fs79PJB4g2)
If you are unable to use the online form, send in a note with your student or email Mr. Crede at jccrede@fcps.edu.
We are looking forward to a fun Field Day and know your students are too! Thank you very much for all your support!

Volunteers
Needed for the Kickball Extravaganza on June 1
Volunteers are needed for
the 2nd Annual Kickball Extravaganza! Assistance is needed with
set-up (need muscles!), clean-up, concessions (snacks, pizza, drinks), and
people who can let us borrow coolers to keep the water and drinks cold.
If you can be available on both June 1 and also on the rain date
of June 8, that would be best. If you can only help on June 1 or
June 8 (in the event of bad weather on June 1), please let me know.

Final Box Tops Collection DUE TOMORROW!
Hope you have been continuing to collect those BoxTops! We
will be doing our final submission to the program for the year in two
weeks. Please
turn in your Box Tops, especially those that are expiring in the summer, by tomorrow, May 25.
Box Tops are worth 10 cents each for the school to spend on
classroom needs. This is basically free money and all it requires is that
you clip, save and submit the Box Tops to our Box in the school lobby. No
need to mark with names this time around – just put the Box Tops in baggies for
your child to drop in this box outside the school office.
We are just $130 away from our $1,000 goal for this school year.
Keep clipping!
Questions? You may contact your BoxTops Coordinator,
Shannon, at gbwboxtops@gmail.com

 What is a Makerspace?
A makerspace is a place where students can gather to create,
invent, tinker, explore, and discover using a variety of tools and materials.
It provides a hands-on approach to learning that encourages the
development of the Portrait of a Graduate skills (collaboration, communication,
creative and critical thinking, goal-directed and resilient individuals, and
global and ethical citizens).
When and where?
GBW is working to create a makerspace in the library that will be
ready for all of our students to use next year.
Donation Request:
Are you tired of stepping on legos all over your house? Now
is your chance to donate them to GBW’s library makerspace! Please take a
moment to fill one sandwich-sized ziplock bag with assorted legos to donate to
the library. Your kids will get to use them again, along with many other
engaging resources, next year in the makerspace! Thanks for your help in providing
materials for student creations!
