SOL Testing

SOL TESTING

The SOL testing policy states that students cannot use unauthorized electronic devices of any kind during the testing session.  Prior to SOL testing, every student will check the box on  the Electronics Policy stating they understand that cell phones are prohibited in the exam rooms. This policy also includes MP3 players, electronic translators, cameras, ebook readers, portable listening or recording devices, smart watches, handheld gaming systems, fitness trackers and any other type of electronic or communication devices. Students should consider leaving these devices at home on testing days.

Students caught with a cell phone and/or other electronic device during SOL testing (including during a bathroom break or after the test has been submitted) will have the SOL score voided.  They may receive a discipline consequence from their administrator, may be required to retake the SOL test, or may receive a zero on the SOL test. This testing irregularity may result in consequences determined above the school level.

Students will be using their FCPSOn Devices for SOL testing.  Students will need to bring a fully charged laptop and power charger each day.  While in the testing location, these devices may be used for SOL testing ONLY.  Accessing other websites, programs, social media, emails, or network folders is prohibited and is subject to the same consequences stated above.

While the main testing window is from Friday, May 18 through Thursday, May 24, this policy applies to all make ups and retakes as well.  The SOL schedule can be found on the Chantilly HS webpage https://chantillyhs.fcps.edu/node/3393 .
