HERNDON ALL NIGHT GRAD PARTY

for all HHS Class of 2018 Grads

June 12, 11:30PM - 4:30AM

at the Herndon Community Center

Graduation is just around the corner, which means our students will want to celebrate - they’ve earned it and we have a BIG (and safe!) celebration planned just for them.

The HHS All Night Grad Party is June 12, 11:30pm - 4:30am.  Activities include an internationally renowned illusionist, casino, large inflatable games and obstacle courses, airbrush tattoos, photo booth, massages, music, prizes for everyone and LOTS of food.

Prizes are given out all night long, and those who stay for the entire evening have a chance to win GRAND PRIZES. Think flat screen TVs, iPads, gift cards, and so much more!

All HHS graduating seniors should be at this awesome celebration!

Don't wait... get your ticket todaytickets can be purchased on the web site at www.herndonang.org. If you have questions, please e-mail hhsang2018@gmail.com.

Please HELP US SPREAD THE WORD so no senior misses the celebration they have earned!  If your neighbors and your students friends are not on the whos going list (found here - http://www.herndonang.org/who-s-going-.html), please contact them and remind them about this event.  Spread the word to all the seniors on your child’s sports teams and in your clubs. We need everyone’s help to make sure all of our seniors know about this and get to attend.  Have your son/daughter share this on their Twitter, FB, Instagram and Snapchat.  We need your help to get the word out to everyone! Every senior worked hard and deserves this celebration!

Students Ordering Food for Delivery During the School Day

Students are not permitted to order food during school hours. Additionally, they are not allowed to come to the main office or any area of the school to accept food from a delivery person. If food is delivered to school for a student, it will be confiscated and stored in the main office until the end of the day. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH

May is National Mental Health Awareness month. While the majority of our students thrive and are resilient, all students can struggle at times with emotional and behavioral issues that can affect their learning and overall wellness. Schools are often the place where these kinds of issues, as well as other mental health needs, are discovered and where school-based supports can be provided. FCPS wants all parents and guardians to know that your school psychologist, school social worker, and school counselor are available for consultation and support on concerns such as anxiety, peer relationships, stress, depression or other social and emotional issues. They can also provide a list of private and community-based mental health resources. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school to connect with a member of the student services team. Click on the following links to learn about resources and ways to foster resilience in your child. Mental Health and Resiliency, Healthy Minds Blog, and Student Wellness: Tips and Strategies.

SPRING SOL TEST SCHEDULE

SOLs are right around the corner! See the Spring SOL testing schedule on our HHS website. Students taking multiple SOLs will only be scheduled for one test per day. They will receive a pink SOL testing pass with exact dates in May. Please remind your student that electronic devices (such as cell phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, and ipods) will not be permitted in the testing room. It is recommended that they leave these electronic devices at home on days they are testing. In addition, book bags are not permitted in the testing room. If it is necessary for your student to bring their book bag to school and they do not have a locker this year, please encourage them to plan ahead as to which teachers classroom or which office they will be leaving it in during testing. If you have any questions, please contact Megan Bieleski.

Parents of Class of 2018:

As we embark on the final semester of your student’s senior year at HHS we know that high school graduation and the celebrations that surround that event are a few short months away.  As we begin preparing for our June 12th graduation ceremony it is imperative that our students’ financial obligations are cleared. Senior dues are $100. Our Senior dues pay for a number of graduation related expenses; the graduate’s cap and gown, their diploma and diploma cover, the Senior picnic the week before graduation, and other graduation related expenses.  Students must pay their Senior dues in order to receive their cap and gown, which must be worn during the graduation ceremony.

You may pay your senior dues in the HHS Main Office or online via MySchoolBucks.com. If you have ordered Senior Panoramic Picture, you may collect it from the Main Office.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
