SOL Dates: This is a reminder
that our SOL testing starts on Tuesday, May 8. Please be careful not to schedule
appointments for your children on test days and avoid late arrivals/early
dismissals on those days. Of course, remember they need a good
night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast and lots of confidence when taking these
tests. We anticipate that
all of our students will do very well.
All-County Chorus: The following amazing singers participated in the All-County Choral Festival last Friday: Cordelia Clayton, Camden Doyle, Evan Griffin, Delia Hunt, Colin Michael, Corvin Ntim, Molly Scannell, Jasmine Wolf and Jenelle Smith.
Solo & Ensemble Festival: We had a number of band and strings students perform at the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors’ Solo & Ensemble Festival hosed at Holmes Middle School in Alexandria. All band students received either SUPERIOR or EXCELLENT ratings, and are therefore eligible to receive a medal from the state of Virginia for their efforts! Those students are: Aakash Hill, saxophone; Mohammad Said, saxophone; Aiden Singh, saxophone; Jacob Baker, trombone; Javier Martinez, French horn; Daniela Booth, clarinet; Anhquan Tran, saxophone; Sofia Menendez, clarinet; Ella Choi, oboe; Cameron Hui, clarinet; Cordelia Clayton, euphonium; Josie Clayton, clarinet; Evan Griffin, trombone; Marwa Barakat, clarinet; Kiera Miller, flute; Michelle Yi, flute; Damon Chezek-Peters, clarinet; Evan Sussin, saxophone; Carsten Komorowski, trombone; and Grayson Nijbroek, tuba.

PTA Board Elections: The SEES PTA Board Slate for 2018/2019 was presented at last night's PTA meeting. Elections will occur at the next PTA meeting on June 7, when nominations can be taken from the floor.
