Each spring, Career and Transition Services conducts
the annual Survey of School Leavers as required by Federal law. Attempts
will be made to reach any student that had an Individualized Educational
Program (IEP) and left the school system during the 2016-17 school year.
Students, or their parents, will receive a link to complete an online survey
and, when necessary, school staff members will follow up with a phone
call. The survey is used to determine if a student is currently in
postsecondary education, employed, engaged with an adult service agency, or
unengaged. Additional questions attempt to find out if a student is
satisfied with their high school preparation and their current life in
general. In addition to reporting the data to the state Department of
Education, follow-up data provides information that can be used for program
evaluation.
