Everything Testing!
IB exams are in progress and run through 5/18/18
How you can
help: We rely on parent volunteers to help invigilate (aka
proctor) IB exams. Any
parent is welcome, not just parents of those students
testing. Please consider volunteering for at least one exam slot
between April 27 – May 18. For more information and
to sign up please go to: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f054ba9a928a02-may2018
For parents of students testing: On the day of an IB exam students are excused from all classes.
If a student choses to attend school on a day they have an exam
they are to report to class and not be in common areas.
Students need to arrive approximately 20 minutes before the exam
start time (or as soon as they get off the bus in the morning) to review their
testing location. Most IB exams are in the lecture hall or wrestling
room. Seat assignments will be posted in the main hall each day.
The full IB exam schedule is available at:

SOL Testing
SOL testing begins in a few days. Please reference the email sent
earlier today with specifics about testing.
AP Government Exam
The AP Government exam is May 10th. Students taking this
exam should be sure to arrive on time to school that day. Once the exam begins
students who arrive late will not be admitted. Students who chose to
leave after the exam need to prearrange their check-out in their
subschool. This has been communicated to students via their classes
already. Students are not automatically excused for the remainder of the day as
most participants are 10th graders and do not have their own transportation.
News and Updates
Spring Musical
If you have not yet seen the spring musical Phantom you are
missing out! The shows for the coming weekend are Thursday, Friday and
Saturday at 7PM. For more information and the link to purchase tickets online
go to https://southlakeshs.fcps.edu/announcements/south-lakes-hs-spring-musical-phantom.
Congratulations to the cast and crew for a great show for the
Cappie judges this past Saturday!
Teacher Appreciation Notes
Parents and students are invited to send a teacher or staff
member a shout-out to recognize them as someone who has made a positive impact
as an educator. It is a quick, free and meaningful way to recognize
staff. Comments can be submitted to https://goo.gl/forms/lODb60QUzkeybgcC3
Report Cards
Report cards for 3rd quarter were distributed to students on
4/23/18. If you have not seen your child's report card please ask them
about it. You may also view their grades via ParentVue.
End of the Year
Exams for underclass students will be June 11 - 14th. On these
days we will dismiss early (exact schedule forthcoming). The last official day
of school is Friday, June 15th. The 15th is a 2 hour day for high
schools.
