Our 4th graders traveled to the Kennedy Center on Wednesday to see a fantastic concert by the National Symphony Orchestra.
Dear Families,
Thank you for supporting our Floris Book Fair! We have had a
tremendous response to this popular event. Mrs. Dowling has selected a
wonderful variety of books for students & parents to choose from and all
profits will be going directly back to our library to purchase new books. We
couldn’t have done it without you! As special thank you goes out to all our
parent volunteers!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and hoping you have the
opportunity to get out and enjoy some spring weather!
Sincerely,
Gail Porter, Principal and Dave Gerstner, Assistant Principal

Green Team Update
Thank you to everyone who participated in the SCA/Green Team
Black-Out Day last Friday! Classes signed pledges to Reduce, Reuse, and
Recycle; we reduced the amount of electricity used in the building; and
we enjoyed other Earth Day activities. Examples include:
Kindergarten learned to sort recyclables and compost, while 1st graders learned
the effects of water pollution.
We also had 61 students who took part in and completed our first
Ultimate Earth Day Pledge! Congratulations to them for going device
free for a whole weekend and walking and biking as much as possible! We
want to recognize, the 4th grade (especially Ms. Hand’s and Ms. Terino’s
classes with 11 students each) and Kindergarten (especially Ms. Clifford’s
class with 10 students) for having the most number of participants. Way to
go!

Rising 6th Grader? Immunization Requirement
Will your child be a sixth grader next year? If so, they most likely will need a booster dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis). Sixth grade students cannot begin school in August without documentation of having had the Tdap booster. Parents or guardians of current fifth graders, please check your child’s immunization records and make arrangements with your doctor for the immunization. Documentation confirming receipt of the vaccination must be turned into the office.
