Little Run Weekly News: 4/27/18

We hope you were able to join us for one of our performances of the Lion King Jr. To know that the students pulled off such an amazing show in 8 weeks is astonishing!  A huge thank you to Ms. Weingartner, Ms. Tuben, Ms. Brown and all of the other teachers who supported our students. Thank you also to the PTA for providing funds through their mini grant program!

Lockdown Drill:

At Little Run, our goal is to keep students and staff safe at school. We continually work with county leaders to ensure coordinated responses to potential threats. We also drill for emergency situations and then review and revise plans as needed.

On Thursday afternoon, we conducted a lockdown drill. The purpose of a lockdown is to protect against intruders in the school building. Prior to our drill, teachers talked to our students to prepare them.

During a lockdown drill:

  • Students stay in place with a teacher or staff member.
  • Students and teachers remain in locked classrooms, unobservable from outside (lights-off, window blinds closed, door windows obscured with paper) and outside potential lines of fire.
  • Students and staff members disregard fire alarms.
  • No one enters or exits the school, except public safety personnel.
  • People in trailers remain in locked trailers.

Our students did a great job during the drill! This was the last scheduled lockdown drill of the school year. If you have any questions about safety drills at Little Run, please feel free to contact Ms. Mohr or Ms. Vaughan.

Parent Input Form for 2018-2019:

At Little Run, your child’s success is our top priority. To help us in determining the best educational environment for your child for the 2018-2019 school year, we invite you to share information regarding your childs needs. Please know that this form is optional.

You may list your child’s strengths, areas for growth, and motivators. You may also want to include your childs learning style (visual, audio, kinesthetic) and characteristics of the classroom structure or teacher personality that you feel will best meet your child’s needs.
