Haycock’s Boosterthon Fun Run is Thursday, April 26.
When the Fun Run was scheduled last year, we were not aware it was Bring Your
Child to Work Day. In order to make sure all students have a chance to
participate in the Fun Run, we are offering an alternative Fun Run for students
on Wednesday, April 25.
The Fun Run on April 25 will begin at 2PM and be held in the
cafeteria. The Boosterthon team and some Haycock staff will be present
cheering the students on. We would love to have parents cheering students
on too.
If your child will be participating in the alternative Fun
Run on April 25, complete this Google Survey: https://goo.gl/forms/fRGGODIcS0RdJZvf2
Despite
the best efforts of Haycock and Longfellow to reschedule the basketball game,
we could not find a new date. As such, we will refund all tickets purchased
immediately. All checks and cash will be returned through your child via
Tuesday Folders. Please keep a lookout for your envelope in next week’s Tuesday
Folder. If you have any questions, please contact Neetha Rao at neetha.kiran@gmail.com
Thank
you for your enthusiasm and support for our school events!
April is Autism Awareness and Acceptance month and at Haycock we will be "shining a light" on autism by participating in Light It Up Blue, a global initiative that kicks off Autism Awareness month and helps raise awareness about autism. During April, we will have several activities to help raise awareness:
· Students and staff are encouraged to wear their Haycock blue (or anything blue) on each Friday of the month (April 20 and 27)
· We will also be showing the film "Amazing Things Happen” https://youtu.be/Ezv85LMFx which helps students better understand autism.
· We also will hold our 3rd Annual Peeps Diorama contest! Students are encouraged to to submit a Peeps Diorama depicting the theme "Inside we are All the Same". There will be prizes awarded for the most creative dioramas that show autism acceptance and inclusion. Dioramas could be about your favorite book or movie, TV show, or character that shows acceptance and inclusion! Be creative! Dioramas will be on display in the library. Dioramas will be due on April 27th and prizes will be awarded the following week!
