Kindergarten
Orientation on Monday!
This is one final reminder that our Kindergarten Orientation for future students and families will be
held at our school on Monday, April 16, from 1:30 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. Our
future students will meet the Kindergarten teachers, the OCES staff, and other
Kindergarten families. You will learn about our Kindergarten day and have
many of your questions answered. Additionally, our office staff will be
available from 2:30 – 4:00 to collect paper work, answer questions about the
registration process, and set up registration appointments. We look
forward to seeing you on Monday!
Paving
Updates
We are continuing to work with the FCPS Safety &
Security Office and the paving company to ensure minimal impacts on how our
school functions. We are expecting the milling to take place on Old Creek Drive
in front of the school on Tuesday and Wednesday, but none of the work will be
completed during Arrival or Dismissal, which should help with the traffic flow.
We will keep you updated next week with information related to the availability
of street parking.
International
Night!!!
We had an AMAZING International Night on Thursday in our
cafeteria. After a hiatus for a few years, this great Olde Creek tradition came
back this year and it was a huge success. A big thank you goes out to the
Planning Team who made it all happen and all of the parents and families who
hosted tables and brought delicious food. Our school community consists of
families who each have their own story, and Thursday night was a great
opportunity to come together to tell and listen to those stories.

Bikes
at Olde Creek!
We just had a great two week Bike Riding unit in our
Health and PE classes for our older students. The students had the opportunity
to ride in our gym and on the blacktop and they focused on riding fundamentals
and safety. Thank you to Ms. Alonso, Ms. Smet, and Ms. Cleary for supporting
this great opportunity for our students. A great parent resource about bike safety
can be found at the link below.

Art
Show!!!
Congratulations to all of our Olde Creek Artists who
participated in the Woodson Pyramid Art Show on Wednesday Evening. It was a
great event and the Olde Creek art was displayed right at the main entrance. A
big thanks goes out to Ms. Margo and Ms. Lewis for their great art instruction
and for all of support and inspiration they provide to our students.
