Calendar Reminder:
Monday, April 16, is a teacher
work day and a holiday for students. Classes will resume on Tuesday,
April 17.
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION
Monday April 16, from 10:30-11:30a.m. at Daniels Run ES.
Daniels Run is planning for the 2018-2019 school year and we are
searching for our next year’s kindergarteners! Any child who lives within
our school boundaries and will be five years old on or before September 30,
2018 is eligible to attend DRES. If you know of a neighbor or friend (within
our boundaries) who has a child eligible for Kindergarten, please share this
information with them. Kindergarten registration opens Feb 20th.
Families are encouraged to come with registration paperwork and supporting
documents. Please contact us at 703-279-8400 with any questions.
Families will meet the Kindergarten teachers, DRES staff, and
other Kinder families. You will learn about our Kindergarten day, get
your questions answered, and have the opportunity to register your student for
the upcoming school year if you have not yet registered. Child care is provided
during this information session.
Spring Break…Spring
Cleaning
The Spring No Sale Yard Sale is scheduled for April
27 and 28. Use this break to gather children and adult spring and
summer clothes, shoes, toys, household goods and small appliances. Donate
them to the yard sale through the FRC beginning Thursday, April 19.
Donuts with Dads and Dudes-April 20, 8am
The Daniels Run PTA invites students to join their dad, uncle, brother, grandfather or other dynamic person to enjoy complimentary donuts, coffee and juice before school. Volunteers are needed for this fun event, https://app.simplesignups.com/signup/HkFQ8Ffjfj

International Night-A Whole Lot of Thanks to Give
Thank you to all the parents, students, and staff who joined us to celebrate our diversity last Friday evening. Many thanks to the great group of volunteers we had. This couldn’t have happened without you, literally!
Lights, Camera, Appreciation! Teacher Appreciation Week is Coming, May 7-11
We look forward to celebrating our teachers and staff, the stars of Daniels Run. Preparations are underway and more details will follow in your Thursday folder. You can get a head start to helping-consider donating a $5-$10 gift card (Target, Dunkin Donuts, Amazon, etc.) for the daily drawings on the morning news. Please put the gift card in an envelope marked Teacher Appreciation Week and send it to the main office by May 1.
