Lighting It Up Blue for Autism Awareness
Students and staff participated in LIGHT IT UP BLUE spirit
day to celebrate Autism Awareness.
The Autism Awareness Committee is selling blue bracelets in the front lobby and by the main staircase before school for $1 every Friday this month. All proceeds go towards Autism Speaks, a nonprofit organization that supports individuals and their families impacted by Autism. For more information on how you can support Autism Awareness
visit https://www.autismspeaks.org/.
Last week, students in all classes learned that people with autism learn differently and that everyone is different. Each student was asked to draw a picture or write something that makes them unique or different on a puzzle piece. The puzzle pieces were then glued together for each class to demonstrate to students that "we are all different, but fit together." The finished products are posted in the main hallway near the office. Please be sure to look at what the students had to say the next time you are at the school. Thank you to Ms. Blasko and Ms. Antonio for coming up with this great project.
Mrs. Zemke's students share their class puzzle, demonstrating how they are all different, but fit together.
CRS Student Artwork Featured at Langley Pyramid Art Show
Churchill families enjoyed seeing the student artwork at the Langley Pyramid Art Show.

Girl Scouts Donate First Aid Kits to CRS
The fourth grade girls in Troop 6769 created and
donated First Aid kits to all of the Churchill Road classrooms. As part of this project, the girls identified an issue and planned how they would fix the problem to earn their "It's Your World--Change It!" badge. Each of the kits contains everything one
needs for basic first aid, including alcohol
prep pads, band-aids (both butterfly and finger) and safety pins.
The
teachers and students appreciate the girl scouts' community service project.
Wellness: Benefits of Spring Cleaning
Some of Ms. Robosky's students help clean up by recycling old folders.
Welcome back from Spring Break! We often think we need to take a break or to get away to reenergize, but vitality is something we can find in each day, no matter where we are. We can rejuvenate by making time to incorporate the things we are passionate about into our daily lives. Our lives are full, but, by making activities that excite us a priority, we ultimately gain more energy. Whether it is ten minutes of shooting hoops, practicing an instrument, studying constellations, or connecting with friends, we feel renewed after doing something we care about and we gain energy for the other things we need to take care of during our day. Just scheduling and anticipating doing something you enjoy can help energize you to power through more mundane tasks. Consider your passion an energy supplement and enjoy it daily with gusto!
