had a happy, restful, rejuvenating Spring Break!
Our year is moving quickly with
the 3rd quarter ending next week, Friday, April 13th.
Students will be dismissed at 2:00 PM. Monday, April 16th, will be a
student holiday.
Tonight is Family MOVIE
NIGHT! Come out for some pizza, popcorn
and a great movie (Wonder or Coco).
Doors open at 6:00 PM and movies start at 6:30 PM.

Run-Floris-Run is
back!
Beginning Friday, April 20th, all parents, students and teachers are welcome to participate in
Run Floris Run, our popular run/walk program. Come out to the blacktop at 8:30
AM to enjoy some exercise, music and catching up with friends. Permission slips
went home this week. Questions? Please contact Mrs. O’Neal (hloneal@fcps.edu). We look forward to seeing everyone on
the track this spring!
Spring Pictures
Spring pictures are scheduled for next Thursday,
April 12th. Class pictures
and individual portraits will be taken this day. Additional order forms can be obtained by contacting

Kindergarten Orientation
Help us spread the word that KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION will take
place Friday, April 13th
beginning at 3:00 PM in the Floris cafeteria. We look forward to
meeting our future young scholars and their families.

is now open for the 2018-2019 school year. Please contact our registrar, Amanda
Bruton, at 703.561.2900, to make an appointment and start the registration
process.
Rising 6th Grader? Immunization
Requirement
Will your child be a sixth
grader next year? If so, they most likely will need a booster dose of
Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis). Sixth grade students cannot begin
school in August without documentation of having had the Tdap booster.
Parents or guardians of current fifth graders, please check your child’s
immunization records and make arrangements with your doctor for the
immunization. Documentation confirming receipt
of the vaccination must be turned into the office.

Movie Night – TONIGHT
Friday, April 6th 6 p.m.
Movie Night is tonight! Please join us to watch Wonder or Coco, two fabulous movies chosen by our 6th grade
teachers and students. Bring the whole family along with your pillows and
blankets! Wear your pajamas! Enjoy pizza and popcorn! Doors open at 6 p.m.
Movies start at 6:30 p.m. Buy your tickets and
pizza in advance at discounted rates – tickets $4 advance/$5 at the door,
large pizza $10 advance/$12 at the door. Parents, please remember, you must
accompany your child. This is NOT a drop off event.

Helping Hands –
Thursday, April 12th
Helping Hands
is the perfect way to give back to our wonderful teachers! Parents meet in the
green workroom once each month any time between 9:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. Put
together writing notebooks, reading packets, word workbooks, math games, or
whatever else teachers need. It’s also a great way to catch up with friends and
meet other parents. Sign up now!
PTA Membership Meeting
– Wednesday, May 9th
Everyone is welcome! Meetings start at 6 p.m. in the Little
Theater. We even provide pizza and childcare! It’s not too late to become a
Member. Please join
us in supporting our kids! PTA Members will receive free access to our
school directory.
