Therapy dog visit as part of Stress Less, Laugh More week.
If your child rides the
school bus and transports an instrument, it must fit in their lap. The
buses at Oak Hill are at capacity and oversized instruments cannot be
accommodated due to safety and loss of passenger seat space. Instruments are not permitted to be stored on the seat or the
aisle.
Come out and support our school by running the annual Oak Hill
1K or 5K on Saturday, May 5, 2018! Participants will be guaranteed a
t-shirt if registered before April 20th. Early
registration ends Friday, April 6th.
Check out the online registration website here for more information,
including important dates and prices. If you’d like to volunteer in any way, please sign up here. This
is a great way for students to earn service hours!

Spring is almost here and we will be ready to begin spring clean-up/planting in our Oak Hill garden! We are in need of parent volunteers who would be able to help with planting, watering, weeding, etc. throughout the spring, summer, and fall. If you are interested in volunteering or want more information about this wonderful opportunity to be a part of a great learning experience for our Oak Hill students and families, please email Jane Wheeler at jgwheeler@fcps.edu.
Mental health has been a “hot button” topic in our
country over the past few months. School counselors are excited to share
a new mental health resource site for our Chantilly community. As
elementary, middle, and high school counselors continue to work with families
in each school, we felt it necessary to share similar information and resources
with everyone in grades K through 12. The Chantilly Pyramid’s
comprehensive Google site link can be found here. Feel free to access the site on your own. If you have specific questions
or needs, contact your child’s school counselor directly.

We are currently in the middle of MUSICAL season at Oak
Hill! Before spring break, kindergartners rocked out to the musical,
“Pajama Party!” They sang and danced and practiced projecting their
speaking voices, to tell the story of the 427 steps it takes for kids to get
ready for bed each night. J
Coming up in April, we have two more musicals:
Second graders will perform “Stone Soup” on Wednesday, April
11th.
First graders will perform “The Cheese Stands Alone” on
Thursday, April 26th.
Both performances are at 9:00 a.m. in the cafeteria.
We hope you can join us!
We’re also looking ahead to our Spring Strings Concert on
Wednesday, May 2nd. There’s lots going on the music
department! We hope you can join us for a performance or two over the
next few weeks!
