First Grade is starting an exciting cross-curricular PBL that will integrate reading, writing, and science! J Throughout the month, children will become museum curators, research a variety of animals using multiple sources, create 3-D replicas of those animals, and then design different informational displays. The animal exhibits will be set up in our CWES library for all visitors to enjoy!

Picture Day is Tuesday, April 10th
Individual and class pictures will be taken on April 10th. Look for a picture order form in your take home Tuesday envelope. All students will have their individual picture taken and also a class picture.
Student Intentions for the 2018-2019 School Year
We are busy planning for the 2018-2019 school year. If your child (grades K-5 only) will not be attending Canterbury Woods next school year, please contact Amy Decatur ALDecatur@fcps.edu in the CWES office at your earliest convenience.
Wanted: Kindergarten Students for the Class of
2023
Do you have a child that will be ready for
kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year?
If so, please contact the CWES office about registering your child for
kindergarten. Please share this information
with friends and neighbors, too. Parent orientation for rising kindergarten
parents will be April 16, 9:00 – 10:00. Snacks will be available starting at 8:30. Orientation
for rising kindergartener students will be Wednesday, June 6th from 10:00 - 11:00 in the CWES library.

Every elementary student in
Fairfax County will be able to enjoy the Real Food for Kids™ Salad Bar as part
of their school lunch by 2021-- and CWES is up next! The Salad Bars
feature a variety of seasonal fresh fruit and vegetable options that allow
students to build a healthy lunch from a rainbow of choices.
Our school will be receiving a
Salad Bar during the 2018-2019 School Year and our opening date is November,
