Welcome Back from Spring Break!  Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 3rd is a BLUE day. Here are a few highlights of upcoming events:

 

College Information Night at SLHS Tomorrow!

South Lakes High School is hosting a College Information Night on Wednesday, April 4th, at 6:30pm in the auditorium. High school students and parents from all grade levels are encouraged to attend.  A college admissions panel will address what goes on during the review, selection and admission process, factors in selecting a college, what makes a good essay, how students should prepare and more.  There will be a question and answer session afterwards.

Presenters will include:

  • Yoma Miller, Associate Director of Admission, Christopher Newport University
  • Lauren Wagner, Senior Assistant Director of Admissions, George Mason University
  • Monica Gomez, Counselor, Pathway to the Baccalaureate Advisor, Northern Virginia Community College
  • Rebekah LaPlante, Senior Associate Director of Admissions, Radford University
  • Luis R. Portillo, Assistant Director, Office of Admissions, University of Delaware

End of 3rd Quarter & upcoming testing

The last day of the 3rd quarter is Friday, April 13th. That day is an early closing for students.  Monday, April 16th is a teacher workday and student holiday.   Fourth quarter will be busy with IB testing beginning Friday, April 27th and SOL testing will begin Monday, May 14th.  Specific testing calendars will be distributed later this week.
