The Importance of Sleep!

Pajama Day Tomorrow 4/6

Dear Families,

Tomorrow concludes our 4th annual Stress Less, Laugh More week at Oak Hill with the theme “Dream Big and Get Moving!”  Students and staff are encouraged to wear appropriate pajamas to school tomorrow (Friday, 4/6) as a reminder of the importance of getting enough sleep each night.  Please see the information below from FCPS Health Services regarding students and sleep. Thank you for your support!

More Sleep = A Smarter and Stronger You!

Students need at least 9 hours of sleep each night. Sleep is needed for growth, learning, creativity and weight control. A well-rested student is better able to deal with life’s curve balls, as sleep improves mood and coping. Help your students learn healthy sleep habits such as: developing a bedtime routine, going to bed at the same time every night, turning off electronics 30 minutes before bedtime and sleeping in a dark, quiet environment."
