A Message from the Principal

Dear Woodburn Community -

After more than thirty years as an educator and fourteen years at Woodburn, I will be retiring at the end of the school year.  I will miss my Woodburn family, but am looking forward to spending time with my grandchildren, traveling and having more time for personal interests.   Our Region 2 Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Fabio Zuluaga, will lead the search for a new principal for Woodburn and is planning to have that person in place by July 1.  You will hear more from him in the days to come.

Woodburn is a wonderful school and community and I know its best years are yet to come!

                                                             Bridget Chapin, Principal

Kindergarten Orientation

Do you have a child who will be five years old by Sept. 30, 2018 and will be eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall?  Do you know someone who does?  Please join us for Kindergarten Orientation on Monday, April 16 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gym.  Parents will learn about the kindergarten curriculum, what to expect, and how to prepare children for starting school.  Please bring your child so that he or she can visit a kindergarten classroom.  More information is being mailed out, along with registration materials, if we have your child on our list.  If we don't, please contact the Woodburn office at 703-641-8200 and ask to be added.  Appointments can be scheduled through Jackie Garcia for registration at the same number.
