Dear Stone Parents and Guardians,
Hopefully you and your family enjoyed your two snow days this week! It’s hard to believe that the first day of Spring brought 5 inches of snow to our area and our Spring Break is next week. The weather has been unpredictable and the year is flying by quickly.
This Friday, March 23rd we will send twenty-two of our students and four staff members off to London, England as part of our Distant Learning Program. Our students will spend a week with students and host families from the Warriner School in Oxfordshire, England. This is an excellent academic and cultural exchange for our students. We know they will have a great time.
School will be closed March 26th through March 29th. Students will have an added holiday on Monday, April 2nd as our school and office will be closed to the public for in-house professional development.
I wish all of you an enjoyable Spring Break. You truly deserve an opportunity to rest, relax and prepare for a strong finish to the school year.

Westfield Ice Dogs Hockey Club –
Freshman 2018-2019 Season
Westfield
Ice Dogs Hockey Club is an independent high school hockey club composed of
students from grades 8th-12th (during the spring league).
The club is not sanctioned by Fairfax County Public Schools, instead the club
is a member of Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League (NVHSL). The league
is composed of 27 varsity teams, 8 junior varsity teams, and 18 middle school
teams. The Westfield Ice Dogs are participating
in a Spring League at the Ashburn Ice House which has 10 games and playoffs.
The
season starts April 7, 2018, and no
games will be played on Memorial Day weekend. Ice Hockey experience is required, as this is
a full contact sport but we will consider anyone that has the
interest in playing ice hockey and assist you in getting the necessary
instruction and preparation for playing contact ice hockey! Player registration with USA Hockey is
required before playing (contact coach for more information), and required for
roster registration with the league.7th
graders are encouraged to participate in the NVSHL Middle School League.
