Happy Autism Awareness Month!
Thank you to all the
parents who have signed up to help at the book fair next week. However,
we still have a need for at least 4 more people to help us during Tuesday
evening’s time slot. If you are able to help, email Mrs. Uncles or Mrs.
Radler, or visit the Sign-up Genius here to volunteer today.
LAUNCHING MENTAL HEALTH
GOOGLE SITE
Mental health has been a “hot button” topic in our
country over the past few months. School counselors are excited to share
a new mental health resource site for our Chantilly community. As
elementary, middle, and high school counselors continue to work with families
in each school, we felt it necessary to share similar information and resources
with everyone in grades K through 12. The Chantilly Pyramid’s
comprehensive Google site link can be found here https://sites.google.com/view/chantillycounselorsresources/home.
Feel free to access the site on your own. If you have specific questions
or needs, contact your child’s school counselor directly.

If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before September 30, 2018,
your child is eligible to attend kindergarten in the 2018-2019 school
year. If you have not yet contacted us about your rising kindergartner, please
call our registrar, Kirsten Prindle, at 703-633-7400 or email kcprindle@fcps.edu as soon as possible to
receive registration forms and information.Mark your calendars for Kindergarten Orientation on Friday, April 20, 9-10am. This event will include an information session for
parents and an introduction to the classrooms and kindergarten activities for
our rising kindergarten students.
Please share this news with your
neighbors!
Important Immunization Requirement: Do You Have a Student Entering
Sixth Grade Next Year?
If yes, he or she may need a booster dose of Tdap (tetanus,
diphtheria, acellular pertussis). Sixth grade students cannot begin school
in August without documentation of the Tdap booster. Parents or
guardians should ask their private healthcare provider, or the health
department, to review their child’s immunization record if they are unsure if
their child has received the Tdap booster. Students who have received a
Tdap booster between the ages of seven and eleven do not need another dose.
Documentation must be provided to the school student information assistant
(SIA) or registrar as soon as possible. Learn more about
the Tdap booster.
