Hello McNair Families,
I am happy to share some great news about some of our awesome Mustangs!
On March 10, 2018, Tiernan, 6th grade student in Ms. Travis' class, and his
teammates competed in the Virginia Boys State Championship, in Williamsburg,
VA. Tiernan became the 2018 State Champion on pommel horse for his age group
and level. He also placed 6th on floor exercise, 3rd on still rings, 2nd on
vault, 3rd on parallel bars, 5th on high bar, and 3rd in all-around. Tiernan

Jersey, April 7-8, 2018, but he also qualified, with nine other gymnasts, to
represent Virginia on the Virginia State Team at the 2018 State Team Regionals
being held at West Point Academy on April 29, 2018. Both Regional competitions
will have gymnasts representing Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania,
Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York.
I would also like to congratulate Akshita Balaji, 5th grade student in Mr. DeBaldo's class, from being the 1st place runner-up in the Fairfax County Spelling Bee!

Scholastic Book Fair Extension
Because school was cancelled due to inclement weather this past Wednesday and Thursday, the book fair will be extended! It will be open on Tuesday, April 3rd,
Wednesday, 4th, which is our rescheduled Family Night, and Thursday, April 5th. Any
class or student that missed visiting the book fair this week will have a chance to come!
Positivity Project- P2
This week our students began to explore the character
strength of forgiveness. People high in this trait accept that people make
mistakes. They are usually kindhearted, understanding and compassionate. They
can let things go and do not hold grudges. They can acknowledge if someone hurt
them, but can move on. Forgiveness shows that you are strong. Due to the
weather closings this week and spring break next week, upon our return to
school on Tuesday, April 3rd, we will continue learning about the
trait of forgiveness. This will give our staff and students ample time to
conduct the lessons and explore this trait. We wish everyone a safe and happy spring vacation.
Our Fun Run is Next Month!
To give your child the best educational experience possible, we’re excited to raise funds for school instructional supplies! And we’re hosting a Fun Run to make that happen. Plus, leading up to the Fun Run, students will learn how to be brave and live with character through an unbelievable character theme, Castle Quest.
