Mark your Calendar: We are Celebrating Childhood Cancer Awareness in April

The Silverbrook PTO is excited to join forces this year with the Emma Jordon Kidz Fighting Cancer Foundation (EJKFCF).  Whether directly or indirectly, the word cancer affects so many of us.  In honor of a Silverbrook student that lost her young life to cancer years ago, her family created a foundation to keep the memory alive and to support other families affected by childhood cancer.   During the month of April, baggies will be coming home for you to send in your change that supports childhood cancer awareness.  Check your furniture cushions and under the car seats to find that spare change.  ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the coins collected during April will go directly to the EJKFCF.  MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Friday, April 13th, when the PTO will be hosting a golden-themed dance to celebrate the progress made in cancer research.  The gold ribbon stands for childhood cancer just like the pink ribbon stands for breast cancer.  Get your gold outfits ready!  To wrap up April, we’ll conclude our EJKFCF coin collection with a Fun Run on Friday, April 27th.
