Franklin Sherman preschool students are learning yoga. Yoga helps the preschoolers develop strong
muscles and mindfulness.
This week, Franklin Sherman will be teaching students about
a very important character trait, forgiveness. Students in all classrooms, from
kindergarten through sixth grade, will have the opportunity to discuss
forgiveness. They will talk about times that they have observed forgiveness. They will also refer to familiar books, quotes, and
video clips to find examples of this important trait. It is our hope that you will bring this focus
into your home as well. Ask your children about this trait, or even point out
times that you have recognized them being forgiving. By recognizing and
appreciating one another’s strengths, students will continue fostering the
“Other People Matter” mindset.

Please join us for the 6th grade's production of Beauty and the
Beast, Jr.! The performance will take place Wednesday, March 21, at 7:00
p.m. in the Franklin Sherman cafeteria.
Sadly, we must say goodbye to Mr. Brian Kirby. Mr. Kirby has been our substitute music teacher since Winter Break. We thank him for all of his support with our music classes and especially for directing this year's sixth grade musical. Mr. Kirby has been a tremendous asset to Franklin Sherman during his time with us, and we will miss him greatly. His last day will be Friday, March 23.
If you are the parent of a rising kindergarten student for the
2018/2019 school year, please complete the Survey of Preschool Children that
was sent home in the March 7 Wednesday folder, and return it to the Franklin
Sherman office by March 31. The FSES Kindergarten Orientation will be
held on April 16 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
If
your family will be moving, please contact Mrs. Rajabi in the FSES office, so
the necessary documents may be completed. The school office must be
notified of all relocations, whether they occur during the school year or
at its end, and whether they are local or out of the state or country.
The annual FSES PTA auction
will be held on Saturday, May 5. You won't want to miss it! Details will
follow soon.
As a reminder, Spring Break is March 26-30. Monday, April 2, is a school planning day and a holiday for
students. Classes will resume on Tuesday, April 3. See the 2017-18
calendar.
Do you know there is a Franklin Sherman school directory? All 2017-2018 school year PTA members who have paid
their $15 dues receive a school directory. There are many left. If
you did not get a directory, please send an email with your name and your
child's name or children's names to the PTA's Membership Director, Weijing Bryant,
at jingandherb@yahoo.com. She will give your copy to your child's teacher to send home with your child.
This Friday, March 23, is our next FSES spirit day, Crazy Hair and Crazy Hat Day. Students and staff
are encouraged to come to school with their craziest hairstyles or hats to show their school spirit.
