As a precautionary move Hughes Middle School went into
Lockdown Status at approximately 1:00 p.m. due to an incident at South Lakes
High School that put the high school in a lockdown. We were alerted at 1:12
p.m. that the danger had cleared and local police and school security arrived
to release the building. The lockdown was also lifted
at South Lakes. By 1:25 classes had resumed as normal.
Staff and students did a great job responding to a very delicate
situation. We are grateful for the training we have received and the
responsible actions of our staff and students.
