Weekly Newsletter for March 2, 2018

It is hard to believe it is already March. It appears Mother Nature really wanted March to come in like a lion. Please stay safe today!

This school year seems to be flying by and there is so much learning going on. Literacy was a major focus this week as we celebrated Read Across America week and Dr. Seuss' birthday, heard poetry from many of our 5th graders, and are gearing up for all of our first grade Three Piggy Operas. Click on the picture below of our students celebrating Fox in Socks and to see more from this week's literacy activities.

Thank you to everyone that came out to Chick-Fil-A on Wednesday to support our PTA. Another way to support our PTA is to come to their meeting on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. We can always use more volunteers to support our PTA and your children. Click on the picture below to see how excited our students were by a visit from the Chick-Fil-A mascot.

The WTOP Click for Kids contest begins on Monday and we would appreciate your support by voting for Union Mill every day from March 5th to March 16. It is as easy as going to the WTOP website, search for "kids," find our school name, and vote. Thank you for your support!

Click on the picture below to see more from this week including the wonderful Watch D.O.G.S. that spent their time with our students this week.
