PTA Meeting On Thursday, March 22 at 6:30 in the LHMS Library
Please join us in the LHMS Library for our next PTA meeting.
Volunteers wanted!!
We are eagerly anticipating two events for which we need help organizing. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to volunteer, this is it!
There is a Basketball Game coming up on May 11 at Southlakes. Mr. Kyle and LHMS staff will organize the team and all events leading up to the game, making things very exciting for the children. We need someone from LHMS PTA to work with the PTA counterpart at Herndon MS on Concessions and Ticketing so that our school can receive part of the proceeds of this well-attended event. You’ll need to use a signupgenius and perhaps reach out to some scouts or high schoolers in need of community service hours to staff the event.
We also would like to host a Skate Night. We are in need of a person to organize this event. This job involves calling SkateQuest to schedule the event, setting up an LHMS swag booth to sell spiritwear and snacks, and general oversight of the event.
Taking part in PTA activities is a great way to help our school. It feels great to see our kids having fun and does not take much time when we all work together. If you would like to do your part and help organize either of the above events, or you have an idea for something else, please send an email to president@lhmspta.com or vpcommunications@lhmspta.com.
Book Drive
The Hunters Woods Sixth Grade is reaching out to area schools to collect gently loved children’s book donations. If you have some old picture books sitting on shelves that your family no longer reads, please consider donating to this great cause. Please send donations in with your student by Monday, March 5. A Hughes student and parent team will deliver donations to Hunters Woods on Monday after school.
