Have you noticed our office assistants are asking more questions when you ring the doorbell to enter the school? In light of recent events, we are trying to make sure everyone has a valid reason to be at school. When you visit, please be sure to know the name of your child's teacher and other identifying information. Please let grandparents know too!
Parent University: March 6th 6:30 – 8:30 at Irving Middle School
We hope you will join us for Parent University – a night of
speakers designed to help YOU – the parent! Do you need extra help
motivating your child? Do you see signs of stress, anxiety, fatigue,
frustration, organizational or social challenges? Would you benefit from
some strategies for how to help your child be successful and happy in school and

New Date for Principal's Coffee & PTA Meeting: Please join us in the library at 9:30 a.m. on March 5 for coffee, conversation, and a brief presentation of Hurried Parent, Hurried Child by our new parent liaison, Adriana Gaeta.
PTA Updates:
The PTA READ-A-THON is next week: February 26th - March 3rd!!! This is the 5th annual Kanga READ-A-THON to encourage our children to develop excellent reading habits and raise funds to support our school. This is the PTA’s major fundraiser of the year, and we appreciate your support. All monies raised will go directly back to the school to help fund Field Trips, STEAM Lab, Assemblies, Author Visits, Classroom Supplies, and more!
PTA Nominating Committee: We need YOU! Here’s your opportunity to contribute to the future of the KMES PTA. Book Drive! February 20th - March 2nd The KMES PTA is collecting books appropriate for elementary aged students. Students will receive points for their Helping Games' Team for each book they donate. Bins will be located at the school in the gym. Donated books will support a local under resourced school and KMES teachers and students.
