It is a great day to be a WOLVERINE,
I want to thank all of you for being so supportive this week as
we worked together to provide opportunities for our students to talk, express
concern, and activate. As I mentioned in KITs earlier this week, our
students are truly amazing young people! I am more and more proud of them
every day. Safety and security at West Potomac is the most important
component of my role and I appreciate all of the feedback that I have received
from students, parents and staff. Over this next week we will be
evaluating some of our West Potomac daily practices to improve overall campus
security. I will be communicating with our entire community as to any
changes by next Friday. One current area of concern that was raised by
students to me and reiterated by my security staff is use of the senior parking
lot. I would ask that all parents/visitors please park in designated
visitor spaces and utilize the kiss and ride for pick up. Some people are
parking in vacant senior spaces at dismissal to pick up students. It is
causing huge congestion, disruption of the flow of dismissal, and several
almost accidents. Again, thank you all and enjoy your weekend.
Thank you,
Tanganyika H. Millard
