Night was a huge success! Many thanks to our wonderful teachers for making It’s
Academic Night such a special event for our GBE community! Parents,
students and siblings all had a wonderful time! It was clear that your
hard work was recognized and appreciated.

Read Across
America Week
Next week
GBE will celebrate Read Across America Week.
It is a week to honor the great Dr. Seuss on his birthday (March 2). Each day we will highlight
GBE’s and Dr. Seuss’ love of Reading.
Starting Monday on the morning news, we will share facts
about Theodore Geisel and a Seuss quote of the day. In addition, all students are asked to:

Monday – Green
Eggs and Ham Day – wear green!
Tuesday – I
Can Read With My Eyes Shut Day – Wear a shirt everyone can read.
Wednesday – Fox
in Socks Day – Wear crazy socks.
Thursday –
March Book Madness and DEAR. Everyone in the
school will “Drop Everything and Read” from
3:15-3:45. March Book Madness will begin.
Friday
- Dr. Seuss’ Sleep Book Day –
Wear your favorite pajamas. It’s Read
Across America Day - Reading activities and Read-ins.

Spelling Bee
The Spelling Bee is
Wednesday, February 28th at 2:15pm in the cafeteria. We would like to
wish our finalist Good Luck!

Is Your Child Eligible for Kindergarten?
 Children who will reach
the age of five on or before September 30, 2018, are eligible to attend
kindergarten.
If you have a rising kindergarten student, please contact the
Greenbriar East office at: 703-633-6400. We will be mailing
out registration packets in March.

13th Annual Special Education Conference

FCPS will be hosting the 13th Annual Special
Education Conference. Dr. Pamela Mims, the keynote speaker, will present
Using Evidence to Guide Practice: Justifying Inclusion for All. Choose from

Family Movie Night
Join us as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday on Friday, March 2nd, from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm in the GBE cafeteria for Family Movie Night where we will be screening the critically acclaimed movie, “Coco”!
Admission is FREE for the whole family, but we will close doors once we reach maximum capacity.
Students are welcome to wear their PJs and we encourage you
to bring your own blankets or other seating. We will be selling popcorn and
drinks for $1, so please no outside food or drinks!
