Wolverine Nation!
We
have had a great first semester! The time is flying by and before we know
it, spring will be upon us. You may have received a KIT earlier this week
announcing the start of late bus Mondays! Due to generous support from
our PTSA, we will be adding Monday late bus runs that mirror those we have on
Thursdays. Monday late buses will begin THIS Monday February 12th.
Please encourage your children to take advantage of both days of late
buses.
As
we have completed half the school year, I wanted to take some time to slow down
and chat. I will be hosting a parent coffee on Monday February 26th
at 8:30 to 10 am. If you are able please stop by for some refreshments
and informal opportunity to check in and chat.
Lastly,
I want to commend our students for being aware and vigilant as they travel on
and off campus throughout the day. A couple of weeks ago I sent a KIT
regarding safety. Our students have been reporting any suspicious
activity and or persons which have allowed us to immediately follow up with our
School Resource Officer and FCPD. Again, this is a school wide effort and
it is greatly appreciated everyone’s help and support to keep our campus safe.

PTSA Updates
Thank
you PTSA members for your donations and contributions to fund the second West
Potomac late bus to begin on Monday,
February 12. The addition of a second late bus will allow teachers and
students to schedule academic help and activities on Mondays and Thursdays and
alleviate many of the scheduling conflicts that occurred earlier in the year.
The
PTSA sponsors several student academic recognition events in February. Rising Stars, which recognizes students
who have demonstrated great academic effort, is February 15. The All A
and A/B Honor Roll ceremonies, with
lunch chip and dip bar and gift card raffle, is February 22. Thank you to Burke & Herbert Bank for financially
supporting academic recognition at West Potomac!
Please
join us on February 21 for dinner at
Moe’s to support teacher grants at West Potomac. See attached flyer.

to help recruit volunteers to run for next year’s PTSA Board. The committee
