A Note from Principal Gros
I apologize for the sporadic communication over the past few weeks and look forward to sending out regular communications again. I have been under the weather for some time but am finally feeling that I am coming out of it. I hope you and your family have been healthy and have avoided much of what seems to be going around.
I will keep this communication short & sweet by sharing the highlight of my weekend: seeing our students perform at the VHSL One Act competition at South County High School. I only attended our performance but walked away a little teary and knew they had performed an extremely powerful adaptation of Flowers for Algernon. I was thrilled to learn later in the evening (while at a family birthday dinner) that the students won 1st place and Elijah W won Best Actor for his portrayal of Charlie Gordon. WOW! I was absolutely speechless! I know the moment that was announced must have been amazing for them. The students will perform this again later in April after the Little Mermaid and it is a must-see! Congrats to the actors, the crew, and of course, Ms. Schrader! Picture is below.

Important Information
Food Deliveries
We want to remind families that it is against county policy
for students to leave the building to pick up food or have food delivered by
anyone besides parent(s)/guardian(s). If food is being dropped off by a
parent/guardian it must also be brought and checked into the main office.
We try to accommodate students’ needs but must maintain a safe environment by
ensuring that unverified deliveries or delivery persons are not coming into the
building or onto our campus. Thank you for your understanding.
Community Service Tracking
As many students give back and
participate in community service during the holiday season, students are
reminded that x2VOL is a tool to find, track, and verify community service
hours. Students may access their x2VOL account through their Family Connection
account (accessed through Blackboard). Once in Family Connection, on the left
side of the screen under resources, students can click “x2VOL” . The first time
students use the program, they will need to complete their profile. x2VOL will
be used to verify hours for the community service graduation cord (40 hour
requirement) and the Board of Education's Excellence in Civics Education Seal
(50 hour requirement, in addition to other criteria). Students may contact
their school counselor for more information and student instructions are posted
in the document library in Family Connection.
