Renovation Updates

new classroom
Teachers spent time on Saturday & Sunday setting up new classrooms in anticipation of students returning on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

A New Beginning

The wait is over! After a year of construction, the first phase of our renovation is finished and ready to occupy. It looks spectacular! Over the weekend all of our first and second grade classes were moved to their permanent locations. The library and main offices were also relocated to new spaces. All classes and offices in the annex building (6th grade, CSS, SACC, & art) moved into the spaces vacated by first and second grade students. In total, over 35 classrooms and offices were relocated. To ensure that time spent packing and unpacking had a minimum impact on instructional time, many teachers stayed late last week to pack their rooms and spent time at school this weekend setting up their classroom.

On Tuesday morning students will enter through the new front entrance. Additional signage and staff members posted throughout the school will help ensure students arrive safely at their new classroom location. Please remind your child to ask an adult if they forget their way to their classroom.

A portion of our renovation bond money is reserved for the purchase of new furnishings for classrooms and offices. New desks, tables, chairs, bookshelves, etc. for our recently renovated classrooms, offices and library have been ordered and will arrive in the next few weeks.

Renovation work now shifts to the annex building and the former library and office areas as we progress towards the final goal of eventually having everyone under on roof!
