Only the Best at Mount Eagle!

On Thursday, the Mount Eagle staff on honored its nominees for the FCPS Outstanding Employee awards. (see photo above) Thank you to all the community members for their nominations and kind words for our staff members. Sharon Smith, our technology specialist, was nominated as outstanding school leader. Affectionately dubbed "The Technology Fairy," she solves complex problems always with a calm smile. Denise Meade was nominated our Outstanding Teacher. Ms. Meade, our advanced academics resource teacher, models for everyone what it means to believe in all children. She inspires both staff and students to be their most creative and high-performing self. Gabriela Codispoti, our administrative assistant & finance technician, is well-known in our community. She is the quiet force behind making Mount Eagle run so smoothly and was an easy choice as nominee for Outstanding Support Employee. Lexi Hoge, a Grade 5 teacher, was our nominee for the Beginning Teacher award. She has built caring relationships with all of her students as she holds the highest expectations for them and for herself. Congratulations to these amazing members of our Mount Eagle family!


No School on Monday, January 29

This Monday will be the second teacher workday. Our teachers will be engaged in a mini-conference focused on reading & writing with 400 teachers from FCPS. We look forward to seeing students back in school on Tuesday when our doors open at 8:25am. 


Field Trips Next Week:

Grade 3: Tuesday, Jan 30 to the George Mason Center for the Arts


Family Science/STEM Night Friday, Feb 9 6-7:30pm

Come join in the fun AND learning with stations, displays and hands-on activities that promote critical and creative thinking. Doors will open at 6pm with pupusas and pizza for sale.
