Welcome to the Third Quarter

One Hour of Play Every Day

Physical activity makes you feel better and gives you more energy.  Growing kids need 60 minutes of exercise each day.  You can always break up your exercise into shorter 10-15 minute bursts.  Encourage kids to try out something fun like playing tag, enjoying a new sport, or exploring your local park.  Stuck indoors?  Don't sit on the couch- get up and move!  It doesn't matter what you do, just be active and play at least 60 minutes every day!

Cold and Flu Season Continues

As cough, cold and flu season continue please remember to keep your children home from school when they are experiencing influenza like symptoms, a cough and/or sore throat accompanied by a fever of 100 degrees or higher, as well as when they are experiencing gastrointestinal illness symptoms such as vomiting and/or diarrhea.  We suggest that children remain home until 24 hours after the last time they have vomited or had diarrhea as well as 24 hours after their fever of 100 degree or higher has been gone without the aid of fever reducing medication such as Tylenol/acetaminophen, Aleve/naproxen or Advil/Motrin/ibuprofen.

Progress Reports

Progress reports will be sent home in student's Wednesday folders February 7th.  However, if you have a SIS Parent Account you will be able to login and see your child's progress report online beginning Saturday, February 3rd.

SIS Parent Account

The SIS Parent Account (Student Information System Parent Account) is the FCPS secure solution for accessing information about your child's attendance, class performance, demographic data, and links to FCPS 24-7 information.  It provides an additional conduit for communication with your child's school.  Customized for elementary, middle, and high school students, your SIS Parent Account login credentials can also be used to access FCPS 24-1 Learning: Parent View.

If your activation key sent to you by FCPS has expired please contact our Student Information Assistant, Joyce Steed, at JDSteed@fcps.edu.
