Highlighted Trait:
Hope/Optimism
(1/14-1/27)
What does optimism
mean?
You
expect the best from the future and work to achieve it. People who are optimistic have a positive
vision of what the future holds and maintain confidence that they will get
there. Optimism
is about staying focused on the good in any situation – allowing you to be
aware of opportunities and accountable for your emotions.
Why does
it matter?
Optimistic
people are planners and goal setters. Due to their future oriented mindset, they are often hard working,
conscientious, and able to overcome obstacles. Without hope and optimism, we would not be
able to overcome hardships. Optimists
are inspiring. By sharing and
achieving their vision - despite setbacks - they help us all achieve more.
Conversation
Starters…
- Can you describe a time when you were optimistic
during a difficult situation?
-
Have you ever had hope when others didn’t?
-
What would you like you future to hold? How can optimism help you achieve these
goals?
