The IRS has published new federal income tax
withholding tables. FCPS will implement the changes with the biweekly pay
date of February 16, 2018 and the monthly pay date of February 28, 2018. See how your pay may be impacted by visiting the Payroll Management page on the intranet or public website.
There are only a few more days until FCPS' Employee
Engagement Survey opens. The survey is your chance to share confidential feedback to
help us better support you. We'll use the results to make meaningful improvements
in our schools, departments, and regions. Check your FCPS email account on January 26 for
an invitation and survey link from our survey administrator, K12 Insight. You'll have until February 19 to take the survey by computer, tablet, or smartphone. Watch Dr. Brabrand's video and learn more about the Employee Engagement Survey.
FCPS' new brand
webpage and digital
asset portals enable employees to independently access and download
the FCPS logo, photos, marketing materials, web resources, and incident
communications. Employees should review and adhere to the FCPS Brand
Guidelines when using these graphic, web, and photo materials. Each of the portals has a unique access code which is located
on the intranet (with the exception of the photo portal):
- Photography Portal: Access to photos from FCPS events, such as
School Board, Retirement, and Honors. (Open to the public; no code necessary.)
- Brand Portal: FCPS logos,
templates, and specifications for swag and Brand Guidelines.
- Incident Communications Portal:
Over 32 sample letters for various incidents.
- Marketing Portal: Marketing
materials tied to major FCPS initiatives.
- Web Resource Portal: Photos,
images, icons, and other resources that can be used by school and
department web curators and publishers.
Access codes, and the materials they protect, are the property
of Fairfax County Public Schools and are for use by FCPS employees only.

Photo of the Week
We're enjoying mild weather now, but extremely cold temperatures will surely strike again. When they do, custodians throughout FCPS will be braving the elements in order to get our buildings ready for staff and students. Thanks to Dania Rivera (in red scarf), Raul Martinez, and Sandra Campos De Guerrero (in gray hood) at Pine Spring ES for doing what they do with a smile. Principal Armando Peri, left, took the photo.
If you you tweet, post, share, follow, like, comment—basically, if you spend any time engaging on social platforms, be sure to review FCPS' new Social Media Guidance for Staff. Its three guiding principles will help prevent mishaps that may impact you personally and professionally. Also, watch this short video for a quick recap of the guidance.
