Glasgow Community -

Happy Sunday! This time of year is especially exciting in the world of sports with the college football national championship game, NFL playoffs, the NBA/NHL seasons in full swing and high school winter sports sports drawing to a close. This weekend I had the opportunity to watch three of our teachers who coach a winter sport in action at a recent swim meet.  Watching our staff members coach their perspective teams reinforced my belief that great coaches make great teachers.  With that in mind, I would like to recognize our faculty members who coach a winter sport, most of them at J.E.B. Stuart High School:
 - Tim Stuecheli - Stuart Freshman Girls Basketball
 - Rebecca Uphold - Stuart Swim Coach
 - Chloe Grishaw - Stuart Dive Coach
 - Laura Benevento - Centreville Swim Coach
 - Katelyn Charbonneau - Falls Church Freshman Girls Basketball Coach

This week marks the final week of the 2nd quarter. I encourage you to monitor your student’s grades in SIS (through StudentView or your ParentView accounts) and touch base with their teachers if you have any questions.  Please keep in mind that report cards will be distributed on Friday, February 2 during Panther Time.

We will be dismissing from school two hours early on Thursday and there is no school for students on Friday and Monday. Special thanks in advance to the Glasgow PTA for sponsoring a Salad/Potato Bar this Friday. If you would like to volunteer with this event, see below for more information.

It is a great time to be a part of the Glasgow Community and as always, please let me know if you have any questions!

Sincerely,
Shawn P. DeRose
Principal
