A new FCPS initiative to recognize staff in various positions across the Division starts at the school level and it is my great pleasure to announce Julianne Roque as Freedom Hill's Teacher of the Year! Miss Roque is our 4th grade AAP teacher and is incredibly skilled in her profession. She provides a learning environment that is conducive to high levels
of student achievement. Miss Roque's creativity, organization, and work ethic allow students to apply
high order thinking skills on a daily basis. She demonstrates incredible initiative and quality
leadership skills. For example, she coordinates the Professional Development School partnership with George Mason University, allowing all parties to benefit from the student internship
experience. Miss Roque has a thirst for her own professional development;
always seeking opportunities for growth and providing support to others as
well. She is a valuable member of the
Freedom Hill staff.
