Dear
West Springfield Family and Community,
I
am writing with sadness to inform you of the unexpected death of one of our
students. We were informed that a 12th grade student passed away on
Sunday. Our thoughts and support go out to the student’s family and
friends at this very difficult time. I am sharing his passing so you may
provide any support your child might need.
Understanding
death, especially the death of a peer, can be a difficult experience. Should
you sense that your child is in need of emotional support, please contact your
child’s school counselor, psychologist, or social worker. Our counselors and
members of the crisis response team will be available to meet with any students
and staff members who need support in dealing with this news. The safety and
well-being of our students will remain our primary focus.
On
behalf of all members of the West Springfield High School, our deepest
condolences are with the family during this difficult time. If we can be of
further assistance, please feel free to call the school’s main office at
703-913-3800.
Respectfully,
Michael
