Winter Break

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all of our Seahawk Families.  Teachers and staff work extremely hard and spend a great deal of time to ensure that learning remains the core of our work. Our students work hard too! This includes efforts outside of regular school hours to complete assignments and engage in school activities essential to a well-rounded education.  In an effort to give everyone a break, we asked our teachers to not assign projects or homework this week to be done specifically over break with due dates immediately upon return (Jan. 2nd or 3rd). This does not include long-range assignments that were given in the weeks before a break and tasking students to use their own time management skills to determine if they need to work during their holiday.

We hope that this break is filled with time for rest and relaxation for our students and staff alike.

Holiday Dinner

Our JROTC, in partnership with the local company Veritiss, had a great dinner planned last weekend to honor local veterans. Unfortunately that event could not be held due to FCPS activities being cancelled due to the weather. The good news is that they were able to reschedule with the food vendor and the Sheraton Reston has come through to host a Holiday Dinner for individuals and families in need.

Location: Sheraton Reston 11810 Sunrise Valley Dr, Reston, VA 20191

Date: Wednesday, Dec. 20th

Time: 4:00 to 7:00PM

Cost:  Free; first come first serve

SLHS PTSA Food Panty

The food pantry will be open on Wednesday, 12/20 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Please stop by and pick up needed food and toiletries.  It is easiest to park in the spots right in front of the building and enter through door #1/ main office side.  The pantry is located in room 372.
