Dear CES Families,
HAPPY HOLIDAYS from everyone here at CES. We hope you are able to spend large amounts of quality time with your families. This week was filled with holiday cheer and scholarly fun. Some of our activities included exploring owl pellets, morning music, band concert, market days, gingerbread house making, and singalongs.
Parents please ensure that you have your driver's license with you when you come to the school. Our protocol is to check if you will be a visitor and if you are checking out a student.
We have created many great memories so far this school year and we are excited to continue on our POSITIVE journey in 2018!

Students focused on self-control this week during the Positivity Project. Self-control does not mean
“indifference”. It is not a lack of thoughts, feelings, or impulses; instead,
it means you have command over them. Those who exemplify this strength have the
ability to experience and navigate difficulty while remaining poised. They
understand that through discipline and restraint, there are greater, long-term
goals that they can accomplish.
This is an especially important strength to cultivate today. That is
because the ubiquity of smartphones is increasingly testing our ability to
focus on our goals, appreciate the present moment, and give our attention to
other people.
