Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Superintendent Scott S. Brabrand will host five Community Conversations this fall to hear what students, parents, employees, and members of the community are thinking about and what issues are important to them. Brabrand welcomes community members to attend and take part in any of the upcoming sessions that are convenient for them.
Community members needing an interpreter can make a request for services online.
The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a meet and greet, followed by discussion and questions from the audience from 7 to 8 p.m.
His last Community conversation will be on Monday, December 11, Jackson Middle School, 3020 Gallows Rd.
Falls Church, Cafeteria (Region 2).
The December Parent Coffee will be held at the Heritage Building on Tuesday, December 12 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Our Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, Mrs. Campbell, will be sharing information about opportunities for students and Mrs. Chapin will share information about Title I.
Our Winter Concert will be held on Thursday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the gym. Please join us to hear our band and orchestra student in grades 5 and 6, and our fifth and sixth grade chorus. More information will be in Thursday folders.
All fifth and sixth grade students enrolled in orchestra, band or chorus should participate in the evening concert. Performance for various audiences is part of these programs. If your student needs help with transportation, please contact Ms. Amoroso (band), Ms. Hoffmann (orchestra) or Mrs. Ragona (chorus). We will try to find another parent who might be able to help with a ride.
Winter break will begin on Monday, December 18. Friday, December 15 is a FULL day of school with dismissal at 4:05 p.m. Students will return from Winter Break on Tuesday, January 2. The Woodburn office will be open by appointment during the week of December 18, and closed during the week of December 25 until January 2.
