 Glasgow Community,
Tis the season to gather and to celebrate! First, congratulations to those students that have made the all A’s and the A/B Honor Roll! It was great to recognize their hard work this past week with a ceremony, certificates and treats during FIT. We have also been celebrating our staff members this week using “Panther Cards for Staff”! A highlight every year, students have the opportunity to write short cards to their teachers and other adults in the building who have supported them so far this school year. Each year, our staff members are overwhelmed by the thoughtful, appreciative sentiments students share. It is a great reminder that a small gesture like a note from your student can be a powerful way to thank a teacher this holiday season.
This upcoming week, we have many opportunities for you to see and hear our Glasgow students showcase their talent through performances. On Tuesday, we hope you will join us for as our band performs a Winter Concert at Stuart High School at 7:00PM. On Wednesday night, our chorus students take center stage for their concert, also at Stuart HS at 7:00PM. The week closes with the Glasgow’s Theater Department’s performance of 39 Steps on both Friday and Saturday evenings. See below for details.
Finally, please note that this week, 8th grade students will be submitting suggestions during Panther Time on Monday for the mascot at the newly renamed Justice High School. As always, if you have any questions, please let me know.

Attendance Matters, Because Attendance Adds Up! It is important that your student attends school every day FCPS is in session, unless they are sick or need to be excused for a specific reason. Students who miss 10% or more of the school year (eighteen days per school year, or nine per semester) are less likely to succeed academically than students who attend school regularly. Contact the main office if your Student will be out for one day or longer. It is everyone’s job to ensure that all FCPS students are present, engaged, and accounted for daily. Get more information about attendance policies.
PTA’s Panther Press Look for PTA-specific information in the new PTA's Panther Press, which will be distributed every Tuesday. Connect with the PTA through glasgowms.pta@gmail.com or glasgowpta.org.
