Westlawn
collected $1,640 towards the Coin Harvest Project. The Westlawn Community's generous and
kind donations will assist 35 families with Thanksgiving and Winter Holiday
meals.
News You Choose - Westlawn will switch to use GovDelivery (News You Choose) System for
weekly messages. FCPS Schools have been advised to use GovDelivery to meet
updated Federal Communications Commission’s regulations. GovDelivery (News You Choose) comes in two
formats. One is from FCPS for school district news. The other format will be
individualized for Westlawn. Be sure to look for Westlawn’s News You Choose on
Wednesdays. You will no longer receive weekly Sunday phone messages. The
Blackboard Connect messages will only be used for messages that are for
critical situations.

Parent-Teacher Conferences - Westlawn teachers and administrators greatly value and appreciate
how we partner with parents and guardians for the success of our students. Children do better in school when parents get
involved. Attending parent-teacher conferences is one way to be involved and
help your child succeed. A parent
-teacher conference is a great opportunity to discuss your child's academic
progress and social behavior. We would
like your feedback on this year's parent-teacher conference structure. Meeting
times and dates were varied to accommodate parent schedules. Please complete the six question survey to
tell us your views. Results will be

Family Life Education
(FLE) Parent Preview Night - On Thursday Nov. 30, 6:30-8:00 PM, Westlawn will have our FLE
Parent Preview Night. Please join us at Westlawn to review the lessons, videos
and other materials that we will use to teach your children about Emotional and
Social Health and Human Growth and Development. We will provide childcare. Interpreters will be available. If you

This month our fourth grade team is featured. We congratulate our fourth grade team for recently being awarded a Team Development Grant from FCPS Region 2. The Grant focuses on Math Lesson Study as a from of professional development.
