CES Family Bulletin #13

Weekly Pictures

Dear CES Families,

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our wonderful families! We hope that you find time over this holiday to connect with your children and let them know how proud we are of them. CES is so thankful for all of our students and the energy that they bring to school each and every day. This week we were visited by the United States Navy Brass Quartet. Our students did a wonderful job welcoming our guests and were very respectful during the performance. The gentlemen from the quartet spent some time reinforcing our weekly Positivity Project character trait of gratitude. Please ask your child about the concert and gratitude.

1st CES Family Field Trip

This past Saturday CES held our 1st Family Field Trip. The group met at CES and traveled by bus down to the Natural and American History Smithsonian Museums. We had a wonderful time visiting the museums, eating lunch on the Mall, witnessing a tarantula eat, and getting to know other families. Our goal is to conduct at least two more Family Field Trips this year, so be on the lookout for future signups!

Gratitude is the quality of feeling and expressing thankfulness and appreciation. It is an affirmation that there is goodness in other people and the world, and that we have received that goodness. A leading expert, Robert Emmons, calls gratitude a “relationship-strengthening emotion because it requires us to see how we’ve been supported and affirmed by other people.”
