It’s Book Fair Week!

The book fair is a fundraiser that supports the purchase of library books, instructional technology, and author visits.

Students will be bringing home their book fair wish lists and order forms this week.

Please support us by placing a book fair order or by helping in person any time Monday through Friday from 9:30 – 3:30.  We’ll need many hands to pack up the book fair on Friday afternoon!

For more information contact the librarian Katie Pieruccini at kcpieruccini@fcps.edu.

Congratulations to the 6th Grade Team!

Mr. Huffer, Ms. Rossbach, Ms. Dziedzic and Ms. Mandell have been awarded a $4000 grant from Apple Federal Credit Union.

Students in the 6th grade at Sunrise Valley Elementary School will build 13 personal food computers (pfc - a self-contained, robotically controlled growing environments), experiment with food production, and share the results of their experiments with a global audience. This is part of a pioneering project by the MIT Media Lab OpenAg initiative designed to re-imagine "Farming for the Future."
