2017 Marching Stallions

Congratulations Marching Band!

Congratulations to the South County Marching Band on a tremendous season!  The SOCO Marching Stallions took first place in every competition they entered, including the Class IVA National Championship in Allentown, PA on November 5th.  Their captivating show, The Tell-Tale Heart, earned them numerous Caption Awards throughout the season for Best Music, Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, Best Visual and Best Overall Effect!   The music and choreography of the performance was difficult, and the overwhelming and repeated success of the show can only be attributed to the hard work and dedication of each and every Marching Band member and their outstanding leaders!  Come by the Band Room to see the gigantic Class IVA National Championship trophy and visit the Band’s website at www.schsbands.org to see pictures from the season!  Congratulations Marching Stallions!

From the PTSO

Student Directories Available

Our student directory is now available!  Unless you opted out of participating in the directory, you should have recently received an email asking you to verify your directory information.  Directory information comes from the school, so if it is incorrect, you can correct it when you verify, but you also must call the school office to find out how to correct your information with the school.   The Verification Wizard is a simple process asking families to verify their household information for our directory.  This process should take no more than 5 minutes of your time.  Once you complete the wizard, you will be connected to our online directory!  Click on the Auto Login Link you received in the email to get started!

Note that while anyone can go in and verify their information, only PTSO members have access to the whole directory.  To join the PTSO, click here:  https://southcountyptso.membershiptoolkit.com/Open_Forms

LORTON COMMUNITY CENTER SURVEY

In November 2016, Fairfax County voters approved the Human Services and Community Development Bond Referendum which provided funding for the construction of the Lorton Community Center. The facility will serve as new location for LCAC and the Lorton Senior Center as well as providing a broader array of services, programs and activities for individuals of all ages and abilities throughout these communities.

The future Lorton Community Center will be located adjacent to the Lorton Community Library on Richmond Highway in Lorton. The project is currently entering the initial design stage and is targeted for completion by early 2022.

Fairfax County Community Centers are multi-service facilities that serve the needs of individuals of all ages and abilities throughout Fairfax County. To that end, the county is seeking public input to ensure that this new facility is designed to meet the needs and interests of the communities they serve. We ask that you please take 10 minutes of your time to complete a 12 question survey regarding the facility.Click to edit this placeholder text.
