Book Character Parade on November 3
The Olde Creek SCA is sponsoring our Fall Into Reading Celebration and Parade on Friday, November 3rd. A parade will take place on the blacktop (inside if raining) at 9:00 to kick off a month celebrating reading. Parents are welcome to dress-up and join us in the parents’ section.
Choose a way to celebrate a favorite book. You can:
1) Dress up as your favorite character from a book - bring the book to carry in the parade, too
2) Make a banner or poster of your favorite book to carry
3) Design a new cover for your favorite book on a poster to carry
4) Decorate a pumpkin as your favorite book character (be sure the pumpkin is only as large as you can carry during the parade).
For Time and Safety Reasons:
- Students must come to school already dressed in their costumes. Students will not be permitted to change into costumes during school time.
- The parade is outside so please ensure that your child’s costume is warm enough.
- No weapons or masks.
