Proposal for New AAP Center in Our Community
All parents are invited to attend one of two community meetings to discuss a proposal to open an AAP center at Bush Hill
Elementary School beginning in the 2018-19 school year.
Currently, many elementary school students in the Edison High
School pyramid elect to attend the AAP center at Springfield Estates Elementary
School, which is located in the Lee High School pyramid. There are also many
students who choose to stay at their base school for AAP services. FCPS is
exploring the idea of opening an AAP center at Bush Hill to be able to keep
cohorts of students together as they progress from elementary school through
high school.
We would like to get your ideas and feedback. Two meetings are
scheduled for the community. Both meetings will present the same information
and follow the same format. Information presented and feedback collected will
be posted online for anyone who is unable to attend. Please attend a meeting
that works best for your schedule.

Parent Teacher Conferences: Staying Connected
At Mount Eagle, we do our best work with children when we work as a team. Parents are critical members of that team. Over the next few weeks, teachers will be meeting with parents to share how students are performing in class, both academically and socially. Teachers will share assessments and talk about ways parents can support their child's learning. Parents--please think about what questions you might have so that you can make the best use of your conference time. Thank you for arriving 5 minutes early for your child's conference as our teachers have a tight schedule to meet in person with each child's parent/guardian.

Thank You Parents!
We finished our Project Based Learning course this week. Our teachers spent 5 weeks learning how to plan units that engage students and where the development of a project IS the learning. We couldn't have made it through our classes without all the yummy snacks you provided. It made all the difference. Thank you!
